The World Circular Economy Forum will take place from 15 to 18 September in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat State, India. The city of Gandhinagar lies on the west bank of the Sabarmati river and is the twin city of Ahmedabad, both strategically situated along the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor. The city was named in honour of Mahatma Gandhi and is recognised as India’s green capital with nearly 54 percent green cover.

The entire forum will be located at the Mahatma Mandir Conference Centre. A magnificent pedestrian bridge connects it to Dandi Kutir, an interactive multimedia museum shaped like a giant mound of salt that honours the life and teachings of Gandhi. Read more about the city and it’s surroundings.

Transportation

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, located in Ahmedabad, is 18 km away from Gandhinagar and provides connectivity with domestic flights to major cities of India as well as many international flights across the world.

Gandhinagar railway station, also known as Gandhinagar Capital (GNC), is located just 500 meters from the forum venue, in Sector 14. Many trains running on the western zone pass through GNC. The nearest rail junction is Ahmedabad railway station in Kalupur, located 25 km from Gandhinagar, providing connectivity to all major cities and towns in India. Indian Railways transports are available from from Kolol railway station to Northern and Eastern India.

Taxis and Über are typical ways of moving about in Gandhinagar. The city can also be reached by bus.

Weather conditions

Gandhinagar has a tropical wet and dry climate with three main seasons: summer, monsoon and winter. From mid-June to mid-September, the southwest monsoon brings a humid climate, with temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius.
